Juan Pablo Alperin

Dr. Juan Pablo Alperin is co-scientific director of the Public Knowledge Project, where he has worked on open source solutions for scholarly publishing for over 15 years. He is also an Associate Professor at the School of Publishing at Simon Fraser University and co-directs the Scholarly Communications Lab. He is a multi-disciplinary scholar, with training in Computer Science, Geography, and Education, with interests in a broad range of issues in scholarly publishing, technological and social, but has paid special attention to open access, the public’s use of scholarly work, social media metrics, and academic career incentives.
